‘Kane & Son’s Magic Show’

Host Ricky Sacks was joined by Antony Costa, Chris Cowlin and Jamie Brown from the Daily Hotspur as the Last Word On Spurs returned to provide instant reaction to the 1-0 victory against Burnley at Turf Moor.

Son Heung-min and Harry Kane linked up yet again for the only goal as Tottenham claimed a fortunate win away to Burnley. Kane headed Erik Lamela’s pass into the path of Son, who headed home Spurs’ first effort on target. That is the 29th time the pair have combined for a Premier League goal, while Son is now the division’s leading scorer with eight.

Burnley were unfortunate to lose with Ashley Barnes having a goal ruled out for offside and Kane clearing a James Tarkowski header off the line. Ashley Westwood and Johann Gudmundsson also forced Hugo Lloris into saves.

Sean Dyche’s Clarets remain in the relegation zone on one point, while Spurs move up from 11th to fifth.

Behind The Scenes | All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur

Host Ricky Sacks was joined by Jamie Brown from the Daily Hotspur along with special guest to this week’s Last Word On Spurs in three-time Bafta winner John Douglas and series producer Clare Cameron to find out the secrets behind All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur.

After the success of All or Nothing: Manchester City, the second Premier League club to open the doors to Amazon Prime Video are Tottenham Hotspur.

With a jaw-dropping new stadium, an established and popular manager and a Champions League final in 2018-19, fans and the club probably expected the series to showcase a club on the rise and possibly even some long-awaited silverware.

But things didn’t quite turn out as expected. All or Nothing Tottenham Hotspur captures a team in crisis, the explosive arrival of new manager José Mourinho and a global pandemic shutting down the entire Premier League.

Producers 72 Films have captured intimate scenes in the dressing room, on the training ground and inside the manager’s office, as they lift the lid on an extraordinary season and dig into the characters at one of the biggest football teams in the country.

‘Valiant Vinícius’

Host Ricky Sacks was joined by Lee McQueen, Jamie from the Daily Hotspur and Chris Cowlin as the Last Word On Spurs returned to provide instant reaction to the 3-0 victory against LASK in the Europa League.

Tottenham beat LASK 3-0 on Thursday night to get their Europa League campaign off to a winning start, with Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min both on the scoresheet.

Moura dispatched the opening goal of the game after receiving the ball in the box from debutant Carlos Vinicius before Gareth Bale’s squared pass was diverted into his own net by LASK defender Andres Andrade.

Son added Spurs’ third towards the end of the game after being introduced from the bench.

‘Spurs Psychologically Collapse’

Host Ricky Sacks was joined by Lee McQueen and returning guest to the Last Word On Spurs in Antony Costa along with debutant to the show in Marcus Buckland, as the panel review Tottenham Hotspur’s 3-3 draw against West Ham United.

Spurs endured a horrific three-goal, second-half collapse as Manuel Lanzini’s last-minute stunner secured West Ham a 3-3 draw on Gareth Bale’s Premier League return.

Spurs looked to have put the game beyond their visitors inside a quarter of an hour as they raced into a three-goal lead. Heung-Min Son scored a fine opener from Harry Kane’s stunning pass with just 45 seconds played, before the two combined again for Kane’s shot to nutmeg Angelo Ogbonna and wrong-foot Lukasz Fabianski (8).

West Ham were pulled apart every time Tottenham attacked early on, and Kane doubled his tally on the quarter-hour from Sergio Reguilon’s back-post cross as they showed the confidence of their stunning wins at Southampton and Manchester United in recent weeks.

But after West Ham hung on until the break, they looked the better side throughout the second period as Spurs floundered, and despite Kane striking a post and Bale’s introduction with 20 minutes to go, it was richly deserved when Fabian Balbuena’s header from an Aaron Cresswell free-kick beat Hugo Lloris.

Spurs had given up a 3-0 lead to win 3-2 at the London Stadium last season and it looked like a case of deja vu when Davinson Sanchez headed beyond his own goalkeeper from Vladimir Coufal’s cross.

This time, though, there would be no let-off. After clearing a 94th-minute free-kick seemingly to safety, a stunning drive from substitute Lanzini rattled in off the crossbar to earn West Ham a point and leave Tottenham stunned, and still searching for a first home win this season.

‘Dimitar Berbatov | Birthday Special’

The Last Word On Spurs celebrated it’s third birthday by welcoming Tottenham Hotspur legend Dimitar Berbatov to the show.

The Bulgarian featured for Spurs between the period of 2006-2008, making 90 appearances and scoring 46 goals along with winning the League Cup with Spurs in 2008.

A unique talent, Dimitar Berbatov simply oozed class. His languid style, flawless technique and temperament was never more illustrated than when he tucked home a penalty in the League Cup Final against Chelsea in 2008.

Berba signed for us in 2006 and his impact was instant, firing home within seven minutes of his home debut.

He returned to N17 most recently in March, 2019, playing his part in the second of two test events at our new stadium as our Legends took on Inter Forever, with the Bulgarian naturally finding the target with a fine looping header late in the second half.

Summer Transfer Window Review (Ft. Martin Lipton)

Host Ricky Sacks was joined by Jamie Brown from the Daily Hotspur and special guest to the Last Word On Spurs in Martin Lipton as we reviewed Spurs’ summer transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur were very active in the main transfer window with six new arrivals as well as departures from Jose Mourinho’s first team. The Portuguese now has a very strong squad to tackle the Premier League, Europa League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup in the months ahead.

With such a flurry of new arrivals in what has been labelled by some as Tottenham best ever transfer window.

‘Lads, It’s Tottenham’

Host Ricky Sacks was joined by Lee McQueen and returning guests to the Last Word On Spurs in Richard Cracknell and Talia Coren as the Last Word On Spurs returned to review Tottenham Hotspur’s historical 6-1 win against Manchester United.

Son Heung-min and Harry Kane scored twice, with Tanguy Ndombele and Serge Aurier also on target as 10-man United suffered a defeat on a par with their 6-1 thrashing at home by Manchester City in 2011.

It meant it was not only the heaviest defeat since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took temporary charge in December 2018, but also the largest United have suffered since Ed Woodward took over as executive vice-chairman in 2013.

Tottenham moved up to fifth after emerging from a packed schedule of five games in 11 days in three competitions with a creditable four wins and a draw – their last two games have had five-goal winning margins.

It is also Tottenham’s biggest win at Old Trafford and matches their record home win over United, 6-1 in September 1932.

‘Winning The Lot’

Host Ricky Sacks was joined by Lee McQueen, Jamie from the Daily Hotspur and Chris Cowlin as the Last Word On Spurs provided instant reaction to Tottenham Hotspur beating Macabbi Haifa 7-2 to advance to the Europa League group-stages.

Harry Kane scored a hat-trick and Dele Alli also found the target to help Tottenham reach the group stage of the Europa League courtesy of a hugely entertaining victory over Israeli side Maccabi Haifa.

With this their seventh game in 19 gruelling days at the start of the season, you would have forgiven Spurs for easing into the encounter.

Instead, a frantic first half yielded five goals, four of which went to the home side.

Harry Kane slotted in the opener from close range before former QPR forward Tjaronn Chery curled in a superb equaliser for the visitors.

This only served to provoke further attacking brilliance from the home side, who restored their lead when Lucas Moura flicked the ball in off his back from a corner, and then claimed total control courtesy of two Giovani lo Celso finishes, assisted by the lively Steven Bergwijn and crafty Kane.

The Argentine made way to allow Alli to play the second half, which was somewhat overshadowed by two penalties awarded via controversial handballs.

Spurs Matt Doherty and Maccabi’s Ernest Mabouka both had their arms by their side to block crosses but each were penalised, leading to Nikita Rukavytsya narrowing the three-goal margin before Kane restored it.

The England captain then completed a superb night with a neat chipped finish following a Bergwijn pass, before Alli won a penalty with sharp turn to draw a foul that he himself converted.
